Wow what a crazy and fun year it has been at the roastery! Regulars that come by often find themselves involved in an impromtu tasting or roasting class. We also do these with all new wholesale accounts and our hardcore regular customers for feedback sessions. After many of these sessions we have people come back and say that they told their friends about the fun time they had and the friends want in. We talked about classes and never really got around to actually starting them. So here we were at the Roastery yesterday talking about our new Eatdrink magazine ad and what we wanted for the content. The gents and I decided what a perfect time to start those classes we have been talking about. So the first two are ready to go... Wed Aug 6 6-8pm will be our "Introduction to Home Roasting"
We will roast coffee several different ways with the most popular roasters on the market today such as the FreshRoast and the I-Roast as well as a good old fashioned popcorn maker. Wed Aug 20 6-8pm will be our "Taste of Africa" tasting. We will be tasting 12 coffees from the birthplace of coffee. Discussion will also include current and historical info about coffee growing in Africa. Countries for tasting this evening will be Kenya (2 types), Burundi, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia (4 types), Zambia and Yemen There are more classses coming folks so if you have suggestions or requests please drop us a note.
